When actress-singer Rainie Yang, 25, and actor-host Show Luo, 30, first shot a kissing scene in Taiwanese series Hi, My Sweetheart, there was no chemistry.
They were just too shy to film the scene in which they had to lock lips and get cosy in bed after having a drink too many.
But, like it or not, they were ordered by the director to give it their best shot.
So they shed their awkwardness and dutifully heated up the screen for the idol drama, which is currently showing on E City (StarHub Ch 56).
Rainie said recently that it felt weird to kiss her co-star.
The moment the camera stopped rolling, she wiped her lips with paper napkins, she said.
'Kissing him is like having an incestuous relationship,' explained Rainie, who feels that Show is like her brother.
She couldn't even bring herself to watch the scene after it was filmed, due to sheer embarrassment.
Intimate friendship
But it seems a more intimate friendship may be developing between the two - with no instructions from any director this time.
Said Rainie: 'I've known Show for a long time, and we have collaborated on concerts and shot advertisements together.
'I acted in his music video too. Although this is the first time we collaborated on an idol drama, we spent a lot of time together while filming it.'
That helped her to understand Show's character, she said.
'He is my senior in showbiz, yet he is very humble, conscientious and always willing to learn from others.
'It is a great pleasure to work with him. The tight filming schedule was very stressful, but with him around, I felt more relaxed,' she added.
While promoting her new album, Rainie & Love in Taiwan, she told the reporters there that she admires someone secretly from afar.
Yet she refused to reveal that person's identity, saying only that he's a filial son, and that he hasn't shown any interest in her yet.
Wait a minute. Isn't Show well-known for his filial piety?
So could he be the apple of Rainie's eye?
She continued to keep mum about that, but she did say: 'It's not important whether that person is in showbiz or not.
'What matters is that he's my good friend.'
